We interrupt this silence...

It's not that I've had nothing to babble about; rather, I've had no real time to do so. Busy at work, other things. Highlights, coming attractions, random thoughts:

  • Lunch! More specifically, today's lunch. On a salad kick, and happened to have feta cheese to toss in with pieces of ham, tomato and lettuce. Add ranch dressing and enjoy. Well worth the effort of making it.
  • Seminar! Thursday and Friday a coworker and I are attending an advanced Excel seminar that is supposed to cover macros using Office 2007. I'm not too hopeful, especially since this is a lecture type of class, not hands-on. We'll need to come back to the office and play with what we've learned.
  • Notes from the Quiet Time Files! Yes, I have a couple to post, but haven't yet typed them out. Time keeps getting away from me.
  • Spring! More than two days in a row of warm, sunny weather has motivated me to take the snow shovel out of the car. The peonies out front are up about eight inches, and I've already heard the sounds of power mowers and revving motorcycles in the neighborhood.
  • The five-hour conversation! On Saturday morning, I met a friend at about 7:30 a.m. at the "other" Panera. We had just been out to a movie together the night before, and we were getting together to have our respective quiet times, do some puzzles and chat a bit. We started talking, and the first time either of us really took notice of the time was five hours later - noted mostly because both of us were getting hungry again. It's great to have a friend with whom you can talk for that long, without duplicating topics, about things shallow and deep, present, past and future. This, of course, is the friend who is moving out of state this summer.
