The light above the sink burned out last night (after I returned from Target, of course). There are no spare bulbs in the house, naturally, and this is what I consider my "vital" light - the one that is on most of the time, that lights enough of the back end of the house that I can do much without turning on any other lights.
This was the first fixture in which I used a compact flourescent bulb, and it has pretty well lived up to the expectations on length of life. The newer CFLs seem to have a better quality of light; I hated the funky color of the light from this bulb. One of the living room lamps has a CFL I bought about a year ago, and the light is clear and bright.
Back to Target, then, for spare bulbs.
