Update: Got this in during one of the two-minute online windows the faulty modem allows me. See below!

The Coyote has finally captured the Road Runner, at least in my house. The Road Runner internet connection is down until Sunday (the earliest they have an appointment open – believe me, this is not at all acceptable) so I’m writing my Holidailies posts offline, and will put them up when I am back running.

During all the quality time I spent on the phone with the TWC people today, I asked how much their cheapest digital cable package currently runs. I’m trying to prepare in advance for the great analog to digital switch in 2/09. Current cost is $51.95 per month, plus all taxes. That would bring it up to roughly $69.74 per month.

The rep wondered why I was laughing so hard.

The good news is that there are several other options (though most just as pricey) in the area. I may give up television entirely in 2009 rather than pay their rates, or mess with the converter box and rabbit ears, only to get the local channels.

After all, I can get news, entertainment and all I really need from the internet.

Right?
