Yet another to-do list

Lately, it seems as if the weekends drift by without my accomplishing the things that I really need to do, much less the things I'd like to do. So, yet another to-do list to keep me on track (in no particular order):

  • Take the @(!*#&%*! boxes of mason jars out to the car They've been sitting in the corner of the living room by the front door, waiting to be taken to Goodwill, for the last year. Well, pfffft! Talked to a friend tonight, mentioned moving the jars to the car, and it turns out she wants them. At least they are ready for transport!
  • Take out the garbage Bonus - when you take it out the day after the weekly pick-up, there's a lot more room in the cans!
  • Do two loads of laundry, plus bathroom rugs
  • Put away miscellaneous flotsam and jetsam scattered about the house
  • Vacuum and dust all rooms
  • Make detailed plan and grocery list for the 10 dozen cookies needed for 11/29
  • Make a detailed menu plan and grocery list for meals for the rest of the month
  • Figure out what to take to Pam's for Thanksgiving - add to grocery list; call her
  • Call Debbie about Wednesday night (hostess gift?)
  • Go to Aldi
  • Find sympathy card; sign and put in purse for wake Saturday
  • Wash car's interior windows. Remember to bring the paper towels and windex back in the house I did the driver's side of the windshield last Saturday; the towels and spray have been living in the car ever since. We call it "visual clutter"; after a day or so, you don't see them there anymore. Not being able to use one of the cupholders because the spray bottle was in it was a bummer, though.
  • Put weatherproofing film over the bedrooms' windows, washing curtains and replacing them with the window quilts It has gone from chilly to downright cold in the last few days.
  • Reset on/off times on the livingroom light timer Changed the time last weekend, but forgot it now gets dark before I get home from work. I prefer to come home to a lighted house.
  • Do the lessons and lesson plan to hand out for Wednesday's Bible study - need to give book to Mary on Sunday morning, so this must be complete by end of day Saturday The good news is that I finished summarizing the lesson (this is a favor for the friend who actually leads the study; our books are on indefinite backorder, so she is putting together a summary for everyone). The bad news is that Grace called last night, and she may be out of town on business Wednesday night. Her kids will set everything up and let us in to use the house, but I may need to teach. Yikes. Better start working on the homework for this week.
  • Pay cable and insurance bills
  • Read through new auto and homeowner's policies; make note to call agent and tell her to quit adding things to the policies without telling me The homeowners has a new coverage listed on it for identity theft. At $21 for the year, I may leave it. Haven't read the details, but it appears to cover fees for things like replacement IDs, stop payments, as well as provide some payment for loss of wages for the time needed to do all the running around, and some straight loss coverage. Who'd have thunk we'd need something like that?
  • Call Julene about new study guide - ask if she can look at it between Sunday and Wednesday, and return it to me Wed. night
  • Wash fans and put away for the winter
  • Put rest of crap valuable-to-someone-else items into rummage sale boxes; store boxes in closet
  • Pick out fabric for toilet tank runner
  • Cut silk flowers and arrange in pitcher More visual clutter; the pitcher and the bag with the flowers has been sitting on the buffet for five weeks, maybe longer. In my defense, I really wanted to get the runner done first, and there simply hasn't been enough time
  • Update resume on Monster
  • Scan through listings; apply to anything interesting
  • If possible, do a batch or two of cookies to freeze for 11/29
  • Wash bathroom floor
  • Figure out furnace filter
  • Get replacement vacuum bags
  • Finish hand sewing the binding on the second Christmas quilted panel
  • Look at Christmas card stockpile; start new list in excel for import to word
  • Replace burned out light bulb in ceiling fixture - sewing room
  • Stop adding four things to this list for every two things I cross out

That's a start, anyway. I want to get the laundry started, vacuuming done and kitchen wiped up before I sit down for dinner...I skipped lunch today, so hunger will be a great motivator. Will update as things get done, if only for the satisfaction of the bracket s bracket bracket slash s bracket...
