Heh. Seems I've finally stumped Holly on the cryptic clue. For those new to cryptic crosswords, they are crosswords whose clues are actually puzzles (the better to make the solver crazy).
This clue - "Accelerate joy with spiritual vision" is for a ten letter word. The clue is a charade - just like the game of charades, the answer has been broken down into component parts in the clue.
"Accelerate" and "joy" are the broken down elements of the answer; "spiritual vision" is the actual clear language clue.
The answer to "accelerate" is 3 letters; another word for "joy" takes up the remaining seven.
If nothing else, thing about what spiritual visions you may be familiar with.
