Things that make you go hmmmmm

From the police blotter for my city, for the week or so before Christmas, two apparently unrelated incidents:

·A caller reported Satanist activity at a business in the 10500 block of West Layton Avenue at about 1:20 p.m. Dec. 24. The caller stated that when she quit working there about four-years ago the owner cast a spell on her and other employees. An officer attempted to call the business but it was closed for the holidays. Police advised the caller to consult her pastor about her concerns.

·Police responded to South 104th Street and West Howard Avenue after a caller reported there were two headless exotic birds lying in the roadway at about 7:45 a.m. Dec. 25. The birds turned out to be two chickens with their heads cut off, and they were disposed of.

These two locations are less than a mile apart.

One wonders why, four years after the initial curse was cast, the woman finally decided to call the police. One also wonders if the poor chickens were used in a renewal of that curse.

You really can't make this stuff up.
