OK, I do whine about work every so often (well, yes, sometimes more often). Yet there is a definite vibe around campus that Marquette is a special place.
Here's a story that proves that.
How much of kindness and care shown to unexpected visitors is justifiable pride in Marquette and how much is native Midwestern niceness, it's difficult to tell. But it's been my experience across the board that MU alumni are the best possible representatives of the school - involved, enthusiastic, caring, generous in both time and finances.
To put the icing on the cake, the Men's basketball team has a 3 seed in the NCAA West regional this year. It could be a fun game, from a nonsense point of view - if BYU wins, they will face MU - the Mormons vs. the Jesuits.
