Added to my already sky-high stress level

is a very real fear of being squished flatter than a pancake by tons of brick and building falling down on me while I sit here at my desk at work.

Unrealistic, you say?

Humph. You haven't been working at the epicenter of a huge construction project for almost the last three years. You haven't been in the building, feeling the entire building jump off of its foundation as the workers drop sections of the old freeway thirty feet or more to the ground. It's a bit disconcerting.

The good news is that this is the last big section of the old highway to be destroyed. The bad news is that it is also the one closest to our office.

I think it's time to look into telecommuting.
